Who is Giles Corey

“I’ll cut your throat, Putnam, I’ll kill you yet!” (Miller, 44).

Giles Corey is a man who has a lot of courage. He has a lot of courage because he stood up with Proctor against thinking that Mr. Putnam corrupted the court. This shows courage because he is standing against what everyone else said was true. Also that he doesn’t care if everyone hates him he would rather stand up for what he believes in. The blame was toward Mr. Putnam because he was trying to defend his wife who had already been accused.

I am most like Proctor

"This warrant's vengeance! I'll not give my wife to vengeance!" (Miller II, 36).

     This quotation is said by Proctor. Proctor says this to Hale and everyone in the court room. I chose this quote because it showes how Proctor is protecting his wife, Elizabeth, from something she didn't do. I am most like Proctor because if anyone messes with my little sister, who is six, I will stand up and beat the kid who is picking on her. Also if someone says something about my older sister I will tell them to either back off or I will punch thwm in the face. Finally if someone thinks that my older sister did something wrong and I know she didn't, I will tell the person no she didn't do it.

Good always has something to fear

"It's no trick! I-I used to faint because I-I thought I saw spirits. But I did not, Your Honor" (Miller 3, 47).

     The quotation was said by Mary Warren in the court room. She states this to Mr. Proctor, Danford, Abigail, and everyone else in the court room. She says this because she is trying to prove that she didn't see any spirits in the court room or in the forest. She tries to explain to the court that the other girls were the ones who saw the spirits in the forest and the court room. The quotation is important because Mary Warren tries to prove to everyone in the court room that she can't faint by her own will and she fainted because she thought she saw spirits.

    Yes this quotation connects to my life. It connects to my life because even though I am a good person I always have something to fear. Somethings that I fear are being bad, getting in trouble, failing classes, and not completing my homework. Just like me every good person always has something to fear in their life, whether it's failing classes or not completing their homework. Finally just because you think that since being a good person means fearing nothing, there are things that you can and probably will fear.
